Dr. Mohammed  Olatunji (Dr MO), PhD, Founder and Chairman of Moremonee.

In a significant recognition of its innovative approach to banking, Moremonee, a Nigerian fintech company, has been named the Innovative Firm of the Year at the African Industrial and Development Awards (AIDCA) 2025.

Launched in 2023, Moremonee has rapidly become known as the Gen Z bank, offering a range of innovative features that blend speed, safety, and innovation into an experience that feels less like banking and more like a lifestyle app.

At the core of Moremonee's success is its deep understanding of the needs and values of Gen Z. This generation expects efficiency, trust, transparency, and inclusivity from the companies they interact with, and Moremonee has designed its platform to meet these expectations.

Some of the standout features of Moremonee's platform include:

- Daily Interest: Users earn interest every single day, turning savings into an instant reward system.

- Snappy: A first in Africa, this feature allows users to snap a picture of account details instead of typing them manually, reducing errors and making money transfers effortless.

- Trusted Partners and Lion Guard: Security takes center stage, with users able to designate a trusted contact to lock their account in emergencies or temporarily freeze their own funds with biometric authentication.

- Moremonee FutureBox: The Moremonee FutureBox allows users to earn up to 24% interest annually on fixed savings. There are three plans to choose from: Future Landlord (3 months, 4% interest), Jethro (6 months, 10% interest), and Makarios (12 months, 24% interest). You can select the plan that best suits your financial goals.

- Tap n Pay: Using a debit card is more convenient with Moremonee's Tap n Pay feature. Users can simply tap their card on the POS terminal to make a withdrawal. There’s no need to insert the card, speeding up the process and making transactions user-friendly.

Moremonee's commitment to innovation and customer-centricity has earned it a reputation as one of Nigeria's leading fintech companies. With its win at the AIDCA 2025, Moremonee has cemented its position as a leader in the African fintech space.

“Our philosophy is simple: real innovation in the financial industry should help people grow, grow their wealth, grow their confidence, and grow beyond financial stress. We exist to simplify finance, not complicate it. Growth isn’t just a metric for us; it’s a mission – growth for our users, our team, and the communities we serve,” said Dr. Mohammed  Olatunji (Dr MO), PhD, Founder and Chairman of Moremonee.

"We are deeply grateful for this recognition and give all the glory to God for the progress and expansion achieved so far. Truly, we are nothing without the help of the Almighty God, said Dr Mo. "Our goal has always been to redefine banking for Africa's youth, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team."

How to access all the paid channels and platforms for FREE

The device is a small box that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. The advantage is that all TVs around the world have been equipped with an HDMI port since 2003, so almost anyone can use it. The cost of the device is approximately N80,000.00 with shipping inclusive.

Once plugged in, the box will act as a satellite and allow the TV to access all the channels and streaming applications (including the most prestigious ones).

Their real stroke of genius in making all this possible was the idea of buying thousands of accesses to channels and applications and then redistributing them to the boxes thanks to artificial intelligence. The AI they have developed allows all the TVs connected to the box to choose and watch any programme without waiting or interruption. all for free.

In this way, everyone is included. Individuals can access all programmes for a fraction of the initial price, Smart TV makes a profit by selling the boxes and the programme providers still get thousands of new orders.

How does it work?

Just as you plug a USB stick into your computer, here you simply plug the box into the HDMI port of your TV to automatically gain access to all the programmes you ever dreamed of watching.

It is very easy to set up:

1. Find the HDMI port on the TV (usually on the back or side)

2. Plug in the Smart TV box

3. Wait for the light to come on

4. Turn on the TV and enjoy instant free access to channels and apps.

If you want to change TVs or install the box on another TV, just unplug it and plug it back into the TV you want. It's that easy.

The best part is that the device has a minimum life span of 10 years and as it is connected to the network, access to new channels and applications is updated in real time.

GENERATIVE ENGINE OPTIMIZATION...The Key For Marketers

WHAT IS GENERATIVE ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (GEO)?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the process of optimizing content so AI-driven search engines (like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity) understand, extract, and use it when generating responses. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on ranking in Google’s search results, GEO ensures your content is directly quoted in AI answers—even if users never click through to your site.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), also known as generative SEO or AI SEO, is a forward-looking approach to content optimization, which is the key for marketers to ride on its trend.

Here’s a breakdown of what it is and why it’s important.

1. Understanding AI's Content Priorities:

AI-driven search engines prioritize content that is conversational, clear, comprehensive, and directly answers user queries.

They look for structure, clarity, and relevance, not just keywords.

GEO involves adapting your content to align with these priorities, ensuring it can be easily understood and incorporated into AI-generated answers.

2. Key Strategies for GEO:

Content Clarity and Structure:

Ensure your content is well-structured, concise, and easy for AI to process.

Direct Answers to Queries:

Provide clear and concise answers to potential questions within the first few sentences of your content.

Structured Data:

Utilize structured data (schema markup) to help AI understand the context and meaning of your content.

Multimedia Integration:

Incorporate multimedia elements like images, videos, and infographics to enhance engagement and provide a richer user experience.

Brand Authority:

Build brand authority through consistent messaging, relevant backlinks, and public relations efforts.

Technical SEO:

Ensure your website is technically sound, with optimized page speed, accessible content, and clear navigation.

Content Distribution:

Share your content in relevant online communities and social media platforms to expand its reach and engagement.

3. GEO vs. Traditional SEO:

GEO is not a replacement for traditional SEO, but rather a complementary approach.

Traditional SEO focuses on ranking for keyword-driven search engines, while GEO focuses on how AI-driven engines prioritize content.

GEO emphasizes user intent, context, and the ability of content to be included in AI-generated responses.

4. Examples of AI-Driven Search Engines:

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

5. Benefits of GEO:

Increased visibility in AI-powered search results, Improved user engagement and satisfaction, Enhanced brand recognition and trust, and Better alignment with evolving search technologies.

In essence, GEO is about making your content "AI-friendly" so that it can be readily discovered, understood, and utilized by the next generation of search engines and AI-powered tools. By embracing GEO, you can ensure your brand remains relevant and competitive in the evolving digital landscape.

Nothing launches its most expensive device, Phone 3

Nothing launched its newest flagship phone after a two-year gap.

At an event in London, the company unveiled the Phone (3), which starts at $799 (N1.28M- using the current exchange rate in Nigeria) and aims to take on bigwigs like Samsung and Apple with its differentiated design and features targeting tech enthusiasts.

The Phone (3) has same design look, but it introduces a stranger camera arrangement that forgoes the typical square or circular alignment found on other smartphone devices.

With the well arranged LEDs on its back — a feature that it calls Glyph. This was always somewhat gimmicky, but the company made use of this to show you different alerts and notifications using the LED lights.

Now, the company is replacing Glyph with a small circular mini LED screen, called Glyph Matrix, on the back of the device at the top right.

This addition displays 16-bit styled patterns, which can offer more information than the earlier Glyph arrangement.

The company is also releasing mini-apps for this interface, such as spin the bottle and rock, paper, scissors.

Specifications and availability

The new smartphone has comparable specifications to other companies’ Android flagships.

This includes a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, built on a 4-nanometer architecture.

The trio of cameras all have a 50-megapixel resolution, but play different roles. The main camera has a 1.3-inch sensor, which is 20% bigger than Phone (2), at a f/1.68 aperture; the periscope telephoto lens offers 3x optical zoom, and 60x digital zoom with AI Super Res Zoom; and the ultra-wide lens provides a 114-degree field of view.

Nothing is also upgrading the selfie camera from 32 megapixels to 50 megapixels.

Google to Roll Out a New Security Feature on Android 16

It turns out that your smartphone could be an overlooked vulnerability that puts you at risk of being tracked. To combat this, Google is rolling out a new security feature in Android 16 that will warn users if their device is using a fake or insecure mobile network or if that network requests identifying information about a connected device.

However, these features likely won't be available until the next generation of Android devices, as first reported by Android Authority. Since the current Android devices lack the hardware to support these features, the first compatible Android device we could see with this tech may be the Pixel 10 that's expected to debut later this summer.

This feature is designed to counteract cell site simulators, or devices that act like a cell tower and trick nearby devices into connecting to it. Once connected, these simulators can glean sensitive information, like the location of a smartphone. These cell site simulators are better known by their commercial nickname, Stingray, and have been reportedly used by agencies like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as Customs and Border Protection.

The upcoming security features are rolling out as part of the latest Android OS update, which was released earlier this month. Compatible devices will have the option to toggle "network notifications" on or off, which will warn you if your device connects to an unencrypted network or when the connected network requests your phone's unique identifiers. On top of that, there's another option that lets you turn on "2G network protection" to avoid the less secure mobile network type.

Now Google’s Gemini AI is ready to fill in those empty cells in your spreadsheet

Google is launching a new AI function in Sheets to help you generate text to fill out parts of your spreadsheet. The feature, powered by Google Gemini, can reference specific cells to create text, summarize information, or categorize your data.

In the example shared by Google, you can use the new AI function to generate and tailor copy for an advertisement based on the different target audiences listed in your spreadsheet. To do this, you would highlight the cells where you want the AI copy to appear and then use this function (but make sure to change the target range to match your spreadsheet):

=AI(“Write a formal ad copy for the product. Cater copy to the objective and target audience.”, A2:C2).

Another example includes using the AI function to summarize the feedback of customers listed in a group of cells, which you could perform by typing this:

=AI(“For the customer, write a one sentence summary of their feedback.”, A2:D2)

You can also categorize a customer inquiry as a compliment, exchange request, or return request, or even use it to classify restaurants by location. You can check out a range of different examples for the AI function on Google’s support page.

This builds on the other Gemini-powered feature in Sheets that can answer questions about your data and even create a visualization. However, the AI function comes with some limitations, as it only supports text-based responses for now. Google notes that the AI function can’t access your entire spreadsheet or Google Drive files, and you can only generate outputs for the first 200 selected cells — you would have to wait until it finishes and then choose more cells.

AI functions are rolling out now to Google Workspace users on the business and enterprise plans, as well as for Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It’s also available to users with the Gemini Education plan or add-on.

As Tesla Sales Plummet in the U.S. and Europe, Elon Reportedly Fires His Top Salesman

Elon Musk has fired Omead Afshar, the head of Tesla’s sales and manufacturing operations in North America and Europe, multiple outlets reported Thursday. The apparent expulsion of the top exec comes as the billionaire’s car company flounders under plummeting sales in both the U.S. and the EU.

Afshar, who was considered one of the more senior executives at the company, reported directly to Musk and has also worked at Musk’s rocket company, SpaceX. On Thursday, Bloomberg reported that Afshar had “left” the company, but did not provide details about why. Not long afterward, Forbes reported that Afshar had been let go by Musk, citing sources with knowledge of the situation. CNBC later claimed to have confirmed the news. Gizmodo reached out to Tesla for more information.

The circumstances surrounding Afshar’s departure are unclear (and, again, the company hasn’t confirmed his termination yet), though there are plenty of reasons why Musk might be angry about his company’s sales operations. In recent months, the number of people buying Musk’s cars has continued to drop at a staggering rate. In April, Automotive News reported that Tesla sales had fallen 16 percent in the U.S., year-over-year. On Wednesday, Cox Automotive, which provides car dealerships with business intelligence, projected that Tesla sales were expected to dip another 21 percent during this quarter.

Tesla has also seen humiliating losses across Europe. On Wednesday, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association reported that sales of Teslas in 30 European countries had fallen 28% in May. That continues a trend that has been building for some time. Throughout the first part of this year, sales of the car dropped by double digits throughout the continent—a cratering that represents the single biggest sales decline in the company’s history.

Ironically, many onlookers have attributed Tesla’s struggles to Musk himself, whose political activities—in both the U.S. and Europe—have angered lots of people and inspired hatred against him and his companies. Specifically, Musk’s role in DOGE, the Trump administration initiative to shrink the federal government, as well as his meddling in European politics, have put a target on his (and Tesla’s) back. In the U.S., the #TeslaTakedown protest movement saw thousands of Americans take to the streets to denounce Musk’s role in the White House, while in Europe, protests against Musk have also taken place.

There are, of course, other potential factors in Tesla’s plummeting sales numbers. In Europe, increased competition from Chinese manufacturers and newer EV brands means trouble for the company. It’s a more EV-saturated market in Europe these days than when Tesla originally got into the game, and, with more choices, there are more opportunities for customers to say “no thanks” to the billionaire’s brand.

In my opinion, firing the sales person doesn't solve the issue. Bringing another person onboard further increases the problem.
